FLYERS’ 1974 STANLEY CUP WINNING ICE CREW COLLECTS HATS AFTER DAVE SCHULTZ’ HAT TRICK AGAINST NY RANGERS (1/3/74)
ROGER BARONE FLYERS’ ICE CREW: SPECTRUM ARENA (January 3, 1974)
Dave Schultz scored a hat trick (three goals in a game) against the New York Rangers on January 3, 1974. I was photographed by the Camden Courier Post while collecting the hats tossed to the ice.
Schultz skated toward me, arms extended, pointing to the German “Shultz’” Army helmet with an aluminum foil Stanley Cup mounted on top. The crowd cheered as he skated around the ice wearing the hat I had given him. photo: © Camden Courier Post: Sam Kushner 1974.
