Eric Clapton: April 1, 1978

I was standing by the stage as the roadies and local stagehands began to pack up the instruments and lower the lighting trusses. A man walked up next to me, and with a strong English accent said, “I like watching this….”

“What do you like? “I reflectively asked, as I turned toward the man, who,  just happened to be Eric Clapton.

“I like watching them take it down,”he said, while sipping a Heineken and holding a slow-burning cigarette in  his left hand. Eric Clapton was standing right next to me! As he walked away for a better angle, I took this memorable shot of him standing by the littered seats, portable risers and stashed away chairs.
