“ARENA BOREALIS”:SPECTRUM CHANGEOVER CREW MEMBER TAKES A TYPICAL MID-70s BREAK

Changeover crew member, Bill Miller, enjoys a typical '70s smoke break. This photo of billowing "ARENA BOREALIS" plumes was taken in one of our many hiding spots throughout the arena. Upper levels were built in several places to create more storage areas. Miller is sitting among piles of brand new seat cushions, boxed and unboxed. This spot was directly behind the officials' dressing room. © ROGER BARONE 1977

CHANGEOVER CREW MEMBER BILL MILLER: THE SPECTRUM (APRIL 1977)

Working on the Spectrum Changeover crew was a physical challenge. As co-worker, Bob Leone describes it in an earlier comment, it was intense physical labor, “…always lifting and pushing heavy objects.”

On many occasions, we’d have to numb ourselves to forget the pain of it all–Pepsi Colas were also a dynamic fuel source.

I hid in this location while trying to get a backstage shot of Paul McCartney, while waiting to perform an encore during his Wings Concert on May 12, 1976.
