IAN ANDERSON & JETHRO TULL PERFORMING AT THE SPECTRUM ARENA (2/25/1975)

Ian Anderson plays his flute at the Spectrum in 1975. While attempting to shoot backstage photos, guitarist Martin Barre asked me not to take pictures. "We look ugly back here, but take all you want on stage." Cat Stevens and Martin Barre were the only people ever to comment about my camera. © ROGER BARONE 1975

JETHRO TULL: THE SPECTRUM (February 25, 1975)

Back in the “Haze Daze” of the Spectrum, when a cloud of marijuana smoke hovered over the floor seating area, the effects of lighting and spotlights were pronounced–especially laser lights emanating from the back of the arena. In this photo the lighting is a central part of the compostion.

  1. Yeah… backstage photos of Tull are non-existant. They just didn’t like having photos taken of them. You won’t find any. It’s interesting that Martin himself said that to you. LOL

    • Paul, thanks for that info’ tidbit. Now that you mention it, I don’t remember any backstage shots of them over the years. Now, I’ll definitely have to post the Ian Anderson shot getting into a limo. It’s not great, but I’ll post it because, as you say, it’s a rare image. Thanks Hope you enjoy the blog.
